Members Present: Vaughn Whitacre, Jenny Myers, Michael Stottlemyer, Gary Longerbeam,
Patrick Anderson, Dennis Grubbs, Randy Carter, and Charles R. Sandy, Jr.
(remote participation). Non-voting Board Liaison; Mr. Robert Liero
Members Absent: None

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairperson, Mrs. Jenny Myers.
Invocation
Pledge of Allegiance
Approval of January 13, 2026, Meeting Minutes
Mr. Stottlemyer moved to approve of the minutes as presented, second by Mr. Carter, approved (8-
0).
Adoption of Agenda
Mr. Longerbeam moved to adopt the agenda as presented, second by Mr. Grubbs, approved (8-0).

New Business
1. Mrs. Myers introduced the two new members of the Commission: Mr. Patrick Anderson
representing as an At-Large member and Mr. Charles R. Sandy representing the Opequon
Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting

District.
Monthly Reports
Staff provided reports on past and upcoming park projects, maintenance upgrades, recreation
programs, marketing, and special events.
Standing Committee Reports
Buildings and Grounds (March 3, 2026):
1. Mr. Carter provided an update of the Buildings and Grounds Committee, the date and time
for the 2026 meetings will remain the same; the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m.
2. Staff presented an update on the status of existing projects.
Information Items
1. Mr. Longerbeam suggested that long-serving Commission Member, Ron Madagan, be
recognized for his years of service. A nomination for plaque recognition will be discussed
at the next Buildings and Grounds Committee meeting and be forwarded to the full
Commission at a later date.
2. Mr. Whitacre asked staff to connect with local home-school organizations to share program
information.

Mrs. Myers adjourned the meeting at 7:27 p.m.
