Pursuant to section 24.2-701.2 of the Code of Virginia, a voter satellite office
shall be established at 261-263 Sunnyside Plaza Drive, Winchester, VA 22603, no later
than June 18, 2026, for the purposes of absentee voting in person and as the Central
Absentee Voting Precinct for the August 2026 primary election.

RE: Temporary Central Absentee Voting Precinct
Due to planned renovations to the central precinct early absentee voting location, the
Office of Elections/General Registrar will be using the County-owned space at Sunnyside Plaza
to conduct early absentee voting for the August primary elections with early voting
commencing on June 18, 2026. State law requires the local governing body to establish by
ordinance any absentee voting location no later than sixty days prior to the election date.
Should renovations not be completed as scheduled, an additional ordinance will be
presented to extend use of the alternate early absentee voting location for the November 2026
general election.
