Item 3: Exit 315 Bridge Resurfacing – Update from VDOT
Topic Synopsis
VDOT is planning to resurface Exit 315 Bridge this coming summer season. Normally a routine activity,
VDOT has funding and opportunity to utilize a new treatment that is expected to last longer than the
typical material but has a longer curing time and a more involved installation process. VDOT would like
to update the committee on this project.

Item 4: Pipeline Study Updates
Topic Synopsis
Each year VDOT works with localities who wish to do so to conduct “Pipeline” studies of important
transportation corridors within the community. Frederick County has made significant use of this
opportunity as these studies provide strong background support data needed for SmartScale applications.
Currently, we have 3 Pipeline Studies nearing completion as follows:
Route 7
Route 522 North – Urban
Route 522 North – Rural
Mr. Brad Reed, VDOT District Planner for Staunton District, will be present to outline the studies and
make preliminary recommendations.

Renaissance Drive
Project is complete. Staff is awaiting final invoicing and CSX reimbursement to complete closeout and
seek previously discussed additional funds from VDOT.
Gainsboro Road
Staff has recently received draft roll plots and layouts as we work toward an expected 30% design in
March.
