January 8 2025 Board Work Session Minutes 184 MINUTES WORK SESSION FREDERICK COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 8, 2025 5:30 P.M. BOARD ROOM, COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING 107 NORTH KENT STREET, WINCHESTER, VIRGINIA ATTENDEES Board of Supervisors: Josh E. Ludwig, Chairman; Judith McCann-Slaughter, Vice Chairman; Robert W. Wells; Blaine P. Dunn; Heather H. Lockridge; John F. Jewell; and Robert T. Liero were present. Staff present: Michael Bollhoefer, County Administrator; Jay E. Tibbs, Deputy County Administrator; Derek Brill, Chief Deputy Commissioner of the Revenue; Cheryl Shiffler, Finance Director; Jennifer Place, Risk Manager/Budget Analyst; Karen Vacchio, Public Information Officer; Patrick Fly, Deputy Director of Information Technologies; Austin Cano, Assistant County Attorney; and Ann W. Phillips, Deputy Clerk to the Board of Supervisors. CALL TO ORDER Chairman Ludwig called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. DISCUSSION ITEM - REASSESSMENT ADVERTISEMENT AND PROJECTED PROPERTY TAX REVENUES Derek Brill, Chief Deputy Commissioner of the Revenue, reviewed the projected property tax revenues as prepared by Tonya Sibert, the Commissioner of the Revenue, who was unable to attend the meeting. The Board discussed ongoing needs and the funds already committed to specific large County projects. They also discussed the Proposed Public Hearing Notice Regarding Real Property Minute Book 50 Board of Supervisors Work Session of January 8, 2025 County of Frederick, Virginia 185 Tax Levies Following the Reassessment. By consensus, the Board agreed to wait until the meeting on February 24 to decide about publishing the public hearing notice.
