At the Regular Meeting of the Board of Supervisors of
Frederick County, Virginia, held in the Supervisors Room over the Clerk's Office on the
13th day of November, 1950.
P R E S E N T
L. B. Whitacre, Chairman, B. 0. Brumback, Ellsworth Dodson,
C. E. Garber and Grover Teets.
The minutes of the last meeting, held on the 9th day of
October, 1950., viei read and approved.

Reports of Earl Cather, Game Warden, I. Fred Stine, County
Agent, John Wolfe, Assistant County agent, Harry L. McCann, Treasurer, B. D. Fleener,
Resident Road Engineer, Dr. Chapman, Frederick County Health Department, Joseph A.
Massie, Commonwealth's Attorney and Earl Bailey, Commissioner of Revenue were read and
approved.
FINAL SECONDARY ROAD BUDGET - 1950 - I951
Upon motion duly seconded the following Resolution was adopted.
Be it Resolved, that this Board adopt the Final Secondary Road
Budget for Frederick County as presented by the Resident Engineer.
D ISTRICT HOLE BOAR
Mr. W. B. Speck, Secretary of the League of Virginia Count�:es
appeared before the Board in reguard to Frederick County joining the Counties and Cities_
of North Western Virginia to create a district Home Board to establish and operate a
Home for such counties and Cities; such home to provide for the care and maintenance
of indigent persons. No action was taken.
ROADS - FEDERAL AID SECONDARY ROAD
Upon motion of Ellsworth Dodson seconded by B. 0. Brumback,
it is recommended ^by this Board that the State Highway Department after completing
route 600 Nortbi of Gainesboro to near the intersection of Route 685 Federal Aid
secondary project, that the next Federal Aid secondary Road project be located on
Route 600 from the end of the present hard surface South to Lot. Falls.
G ALE WARDEN
Mr. Webb Midyette of the Game and Fish Comm issioner appeared
before the Board and requested the Board to increase the Game V..arden's salary from
Fifty Dollars($50.00) per month to Seventy Five Dollars per month. No action was taken.

14r. Charles P. Lurks, manager of the Chesapeake and Potomac
;. Telephone Company, Winchester, Virginia having requested this Board that the Virginia

State Corporation Commission be given permission by the Board of Supervisors to report
their property located in Frederick County, Virginia, for tax purposes, be reported to
Frederick. County only, instead of ttn :Frederick County by School Magisterial Districts.
Upon motion duly seconded it is ordered that the permission requested be and hereby is
granted.
H OSPITAL
Upon motion duly seconded the Chairman of this Board is
ordered to sign the Contracts for indigent persons with the Winchester Memorial Hospital
]ROADS - JOHN RAMEY ROAD
Upon motion the following,L. B. Whitacre, Ellsworth Dodson and
Glenn Noore , were appointed a Comrittee to appear before Genbral James A. Anderson
the Department of Highways in regard to the John Ramey Road which is located near
Hayfield, Frederick County, Virginia, on the 22nd day of November, I950 at I0:00 A. Y,
The Clerk is ordered to make this appointment with the COL1nissioner.
BILLS APPROVE
Accounts totaling $4,634.07 were approved and ordered to be
paid from the General County Fund by warrants numbers I2653 to I2827 inclusive and
livestock, Foul Claims and Earl Cather's salary totaling $I74.57 were approved and
orderer' to be paid from the Dog Fund by warrants numbers I165 to I173 inclusive.
Upon motion it is ordered that the Board do now adjourn.

It is ordered that Geroge Hodson and 'Norman Tisinger, Jr.,
be paid, by the Treasurer of Frederick County, Five Dol -ars each for killing two Bob
Cats
ROADS: JA2!ES WOOD SCHOOL
Upon motion duly seconded the following resolution was
adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED that the two entrances to the James Wood
Consolidated High School for Frederick County be added to the Secondary System and
maintained by the Department of Highways which are more fully described below.
The east entrance being 0.15 mile west of the WJ.C.L.'
Winchester and running south from Route 50, a distance of 0.I2 mile.

The west entrance being O.IO mile west of the east entrance,
and running south 0.13 mile from Route 50.
A thirty foot unrestricted right of way is hereby guarantee
DISTRICT HOME BOARD
Mr. B. 0. Brumback offered the following Resolution.
Resolved, that Frederick County become a member of the
proposed District Home Board for the Counties and Cities of Northwestern, Virginia, for
persons unable to care for themselves. There was no second to this motion therefore the
resolution was not passed.

ROADS - SECOPIDARY
Upon motion duly seconded and in accordance with the law,
it is ordered that the Board will hold its Regular hearing on requests for secondary
road additions and improvements on Londay February I2th, 1951. It is further Ordered
that a notice of said meeting be published in the Tincheester Evening Star.
Accounts totaling 03,864.63 were approved and ordered to
paid from the General County Fund by warrants numbers I2828 to I2865 inclusive and
ivestock Fowl Claims and Earl Cather's Salary totaling $104.24 were approved and
dered to be paid from the Dog Fund by warrants numbers II74 to I178 inclusive.
Upon motion it is ordered that the Lard do now adjourn.
