019-23 (EndorseRoute11AtShawneeDriveRevenueSharingProject) RESOLUTION Action: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS: September 27, 2023 Approved RESOLUTION ENDORSEMENT OF THE U.S. ROUTE 11 AT SHAWNEE DRIVE REVENUE SHARING PROJECT WHEREAS, in accordance with the Commonwealth Transportation Board construction allocation procedures,it is necessary that a resolution be received from the sponsoring local jurisdiction or agency requesting the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to establish a project in the County of Frederick. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the County ofFrederick requests the Commonwealth Transportation Board to approve revenue-sharing funds for the U.S. Route I 1 at Shawnee Drive revenue-sharing project; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Frederick County Board of Supervisors commits to funding its local share of the preliminary engineering, right-of=way, and construction (as applicable) of the project under agreement with the Virginia Department of Transportation in accordance with the project financial document(s); and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Administrator and/or his designee is authorized to execute all agreements and/or addendums for any approved projects with the Virginia Department of Transportation. Bishop AICP, Assistant Planning Director RE: Transportation Alternatives and Revenue Sharing Application Support DATE: September 15, 2023 On July 12, 2023, the Board of Supervisors authorized Staff to prepare applications for Revenue Sharing and Transportation Alternatives funds for the following projects: Transportation Alternatives (80%Federal/State, 20% Local) Valley Mill Road, $686,765 Warrior Drive, $1,819,064 Inverlee Way, $532,781 Revenue Sharing (50% State, 50% Local) Shawnee Drive Intersection with U.S. Route 11, $4,500,000 Warrior Drive Extension with Brandy Lane Upgrade, $4,085,843 As staff works to finalize the applications for these projects, the attached resolutions of support are required elements of the applications. Assuming successful application, the Board would have the further opportunity to choose to accept or not accept the award.
