B. Whitacre, Chairmen, B. 0. Brumback, Ellsworth Dodson, C. E. Garber and Grover Teets. The minutes of the last meeting, held on the IIth day of April, 1949 were read and approved. REPORTS: - AGNES SHIRLEY, I. FRED STINE, JOHN V70LFE EARL CATHER, HARRY L. McCANN, E.S. BAILEY, ROBERT L. DEHAVEN, AND MRS. A. W. WRIGHT Reports of Agnes Shirley, Home Demonstration Agent, I. Fred Stine, County Agent, John Wolfe, Assistant County Agent, E Cather, Game Warden, Harry L. McCann, Treasurer, E. S. Bailey, Commissioner of Revenue, Robert L. DeHaven, Sheriff and Mrs. A. W. Wright, Tuberculosis Association were read and approved.; ROADS Upon motion of Ellsworth Dodson and seconded by C. E. Garber the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Department of Highways has prepared and submitted plans to the Board for the construction or improvement of a section of Route 600 of the State Secondary System, Project 1334 -0I (old 1393 G), in Frederick County_, from 0.126 M1. S. Int. Rt. 613 (S. of Rt. 50) to 4.071 Mi. South, approved April 2I, 1949; and WHEREAS, it is proposed to finance the cost of construction fifty percent from Federal Aid Secondary funds and fifty percent from State funds allocated to Frederick County; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Board that said road be improved in accordance with said plans. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That this Board hereby approves the plans and requests the Department of Highways to proceed with construction in accordance with these plans, and this Board hereby agrees to and does guarantee a 40 foot unrestrict right of way as indicated or noted on said plans, together with the right and easement to use such additional areas as may be required for the proper execution and maintenance of the work as indicated on plans. It is understood, however, that incidental costs such as moving and resetting existing fences, houses, structures, utilities, or other obstructions of such nature, are to be paid from Secondary Funds allocated or to be allocated to Frederic} County. 01 WELFARE Upon motion of B. 0. Brumback and seconded by Ellsworth Dodson the Welfare Board is hereby given authority to transfer the sum of $I,500.00 from the surplus administrative funds of the Welfare Board to Capaital outlay. C. E. Garber and Grover Teets doting against the motion and Ellsworth Dodson, B: 0. Brumback and L. B. Whitacre, voting for the motion. J AIL'' Upon motion duly seconded the Treasurer is directed to transfer $40,000.00 from the Jail Building Fund to the General County Fund. i l� Whereas, The School Board for the County of Frederick, on the 3rd day of May, 1949, presented to this Board, an application addressed to the State Board of Educa tion of Virginia for the purpose'of borrowing from the Literary Fund $100,000. for the new school building near Winchester, Va., to be paid in 30 annual installments, and the intere; thereon at two per-cent paid annually, provided, that at the time the money is called for by the School Board, there are sufficient funds in the Literary Fund. Resolved, That the application of the County School Board to the State Y Board of Education of Virginia for a loan of $100,000. from the Literary Fund is hereby approved, and authority is hereby granted the said County txxki# School Board to borrow the said amount for the purpose set out in said application. The Board of Supervisors for said County axx&v=mjJ74JxxgU ai4 will each year during the life of this loan, at the time they fix the regular levies, fix a rate of levy for schools or make a cash appropriation sufficient for operation expenses and to pay this loan in annual installments and the interest thereon, as required by law regulatin loans from the Literary Fund. BILLS APPROVED Accounts totaling $2,I46.2I were approved and ordered to be paid from the General County Fund by warrant numbers 11577 to 11608 inclusive and Livestock Claims and E C salary totaling $151.25 were approved and ordered to be paid from the Dog Fund by warrant numbers 1045 to I050 inclusive.
