At the Regular Meeting of the Board of Supervisors of
Frederick County, Virginia, held in the Frederick County Court Room on the 13th day of
December, 1948.

Commonwealth Attorney, Mrs. A. W. Wright, Frederick County Tuberculoris Association,
I. Fred Stine County Agent, John Wolfe, Assistant County Agent, E. S. Bailey, Commiss
of Revenue, Harry L. McCann, Treasurer and Robert DeHaven, Sheriff were read and
approved.
ROADS
Upon motion of B. 0. Brumback and seconded by Ellsworth
Dodson the following resolution was adopted:
Be it Resolved, that the Department of Highways include
in the Secondary Roads a section of road beginning in road 622 at the B. & 0. R. R.
Station and extending northward to the intersection of route No. 634. It is ordered
that the Clerk transmit a copy of this Resolution to B. D. Fleener, District Road Eng
Edinburg, Virginia.
SALARY AND EXPENSE ACCOUNTS APPROVED
TREASURER, SHERIFF, COLI(ONWEALTH' S
ATTORNEY AND COU ISSIONER OF REVENUE
Upon motion duly seconded the salary and 7xpense account
of the Treasurer, namely: $4000.00 Salary, Deputies $2520.00 other expenses $391.00
total $691I.00. The salary and expense account of the Sheriff: Salary $3600.00 Deputies
$4100.00 Matron, Clerk and Jail Cook $1200.00 and other expenses $400.00 total $9300.00.
The Salary and expense account of the Commissioner of Revenue: Salary $3300.00, Deputies
$1960 .00, other expense $285.50 total $5545 and the salary and expense account of the
Commonwealth's attorney, Salary $2I00.00 Extra help $420.00 total $2520.00 were unanimous]
approved as fixed by the Compensation Board.
13 ILLS APPROVED
Accounts totaling $3763.78 were approved and ordered
to be paid from the General County Fund by warrants numbers I1329 to I1386 inclusive
and Livestock Claims and Earl Cather's Salary, totaling $112.10 were ordered to be paid
from the Dog Fund by warrants numbers I018 to IO20 inclusive.
IT is ordered that the Board do now adjourn.

Late "Sandy" Baker
The Board of Directors of the
Farmers and Merchants National
Bank of Winchester adopted a
resolution at�lta meeting this
week, Paying to the late
"Sandy" Baker, city treasurer.
The resolution follows:
"We, the officiers and director;
of the Farmers and Merchants
National Bank, of Winchester, Vir-
glnla, do hereby record with sor-
row the sense of loss that we
have experienced In the death of
William Alexander C'Sandy ") Ba-
ker, which took place at his home,
"Thornhill Manor," at No. 407
South Washington Street.
"Mr. Baker was a worthy scion
if a long line of ancestors who

their outstanding qualities of citi-
zenship, and in his public and pri-
vate life he, himself, measured
