October 14, 1940206 At the Regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Frederick County V held in the Supervisors Room over the Clerk's Office on Monday October 14, 1940. PRESENT C. M•. Rosenberger, Chairman, H. tt. Fout, H. C. Light, G. W. Lemley and ir7illiam Carpenter. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. REPORTS OF T. W. RUSSELL, I. FRED STINE, MISS SPROUSE AND MRS. NALLEY. The report of T. W. Russell, Supt of the County Home, I. Fred Stine, County Agent: Miss Sprouse, Home Demonstration Agent, Mrs. Nalley, Supt of the Board of Public Welfare, were respectively presented by them, and each report was approved. TREASURER'S REPORT. Mr. McCann, Treasurer submitted his report, which was found to be satisfactory and was approved by the Board. MATTRESS MANUFACTURE. Mr. E. M. Funk, Chairman, and others of a committee from A.A.A. appeared before the Board requesting aid in a proposed program for the manufacture of Mattresses for certain people within the lower income bracket of Frederick County, the material and supplies for the making of the mattresses to be supplied through the Home Economic and A.A.A. programs. On motion of Mr. Light seconded by Mr. Fout and carried it is ordered that an appropriation of $50.00 be made for the program, as outlined to the LIGHTS IN CLERK'S OFFICE., Clerk of this Board having made the request that the lighting facility in the Clerk's Office be improved and a representative from John S. Solenberger and Co., having appeased before the Board, upon motion of Mr. Carpenter and seconded by Mr. Fout, which carried, the Clerk is hereby authorized to engage said Company to install other fixtures in the Clerk's Office and V MARRIAGE RECORD NO. 2. Mr. R. E. Griffith, Sr., appeared before the Board relative to the preparation of a new marriage record and index for the Number 2 Marriage Record of this County. His proposal being that he would complete said record and index for the sum of Six Hundred ($600.00) Dollars;, $250.00 of which to be paid as the work progresses out of this years Budget and the balance to be provided for in the 1941 -42 Budget. Accounts totaling were approved and ordered paid from the General County Fund by warrants Nos. 4976 to 5026 inclusive. Sheep claims totaling $ 151.87 were approved and ordered to be paid from the Dog Fund by warrants Nos. 448 to 456 inclusive. It is ordered that the Board now adjourn. er . Chai F
