Attachments JAB/pd MEMORANDUM Item 1: Transportation Forum Discussion Topic Synopsis Ongoing discussion item to plan for the fall Transportation Forum. Analysis N/A Recommended Action N/A Item 2: I-81 Corridor Study Topic Synopsis This item will be follow-up discussion on the August 22, 2018 public meeting on the I-81 Corridor Study. Staff will update the Committee and seek concurrence on recommended feedback from the Board of Supervisors to VDOT on the study which is due by September 30, 2018. Staff is also in receipt of potential funding sources which will be discussed and has included them in this agenda for reference. Some local work to implement Item 3: Knob Road Paving Topic Synopsis Staff is in receipt of a request to pave Knob Road under the Secondary Road Improvement Program. Analysis Knob Road between Route 50 and Ebenezer Church Road (Route 705) is approximately 2.70 miles. The most recent traffic count of 40 AADT on Knob Road was taken in 2014 and would need to be updated for an accurate depiction of current conditions. Thirteen properties are currently addressed on Knob Road. Recommended Action Staff is seeking direction on whether to include Knob Road in the next update of the Secondary Road Improvement Plan. Barring any unforeseen issues that will complete the design of the project. Right-of-way plats are in the County’s possession and Deeds of Dedication are being created to finalize the transfer of the right-of-way. Mr. Wilder is coordinating with the VDOT construction section on site management plans. The project is expected to be advertised by the end of September or early in October. Renaissance Drive: Staff is awaiting VDOT feedback regarding placement of the lanes of the surface portion of Renaissance Drive within the Right-of-Way. Bridge design is underway. Comments have been received back on the geotechnical report from VDOT and are being addressed. Northern Y: 30% design is underway. Coverstone Drive: No activity at this time. Jubal Early Drive Extension and Interchange with Route 37: No activity at this time.
