9/25/91 Transportation Committee Agenda page -2-
The first item in your agenda package regards a letter from
Mr. Harrington Smith, Jr., Shawnee District Supervisor, dated
August 21, 1991. The purpose of this letter is to request an
increase in the length of the deceleration lane on 50 East
that serves Victory Road (Route 728). Supervisor Smith feels
that this improvement is necessary to insure public safety.
2) The second item in your agenda package regards a letter from
Mr. Michael E. Madden. Mr. Madden would like to have speed
limit signs posted along Route 735 (Salem Church Road). Mr.
Madden believes that the design of Route 735 and the amount of
traffic utilizing this road creates the need for posted speed
limits.
3) The third item in your agenda package regards a letter from
Mr. Roger Crosen, Gainesboro District Supervisor, dated August
22, 1991. The purpose of this letter is to request that the
section of Route 701 between Route 700 and Redland Church be
included in the Six Year Secondary Road Improvement Plan.
Supervisor Crosen believes that the average daily trip count
for this section of Route 701 exceeds 50 vehicles per day.
This request needs to be considered by the Transportation
Committee if it is to be included in the update of the Six
Year Secondary Road Improvement Plan.
4) The final item in your agenda package regards the Frederick
County Six Year Secondary Road Improvement Plan. The
Transportation Committee needs to review this plan in its
entirety an decide if any revisions should be made. Revisions
include additions, deletions, or priority changes to the
existing plan. The Transportation Committee will hold a
public meeting on October 7, 1991 to discuss the proposed
1992-1993 Six Year Secondary Road Improvement Plan. The items
and priorities included in the proposed 1992-1993 Plan will
result from the Committees recommendation from the September
25, 1991 meeting.
