Perkins, Planner II 0 RE: September Meeting Agenda DATE: September 12, 2005 The Frederick County Historic Resources Advisory Board (HRAB) will be meeting on Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at 7:30 p.m., in the Board of Supervisors' Executive Session Room* in the Frederick County Administration Building, 107 North Kent Street, Winchester, Virginia. The HRAB will discuss the following items: AGENDA August 2005 Minutes 2. Update on the Historic Plaque Program 3. Other Please contact this office if you will not be able to attend the meeting. I would encourage committee members to park in the county parking lot located behind the new addition (accessible off of Cameron Street). Members Present: Rhoda Kriz, Harold Lehman, Elizabeth Fravel, Felicia Hart, Maral Kalbian (Consultant), Patricia Gochenour (Planning Commission Liaison) Members Absent: Martin Killingbeck, Virginia McClure (excused), Jamie Lupton, James Lockard Staff: Candice Perkins, Planner II Applicants/Presenters: David Edwards, Virginia Department of Historic Resources Agenda Items: July 2005 Minutes, Presentation by David Edwards, Historic Plaque Program Other: None The meeting began at 7:30 pm. The first agenda item was the July 2005 minutes, which were approved. The second item was a presentation by David Edwards of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources (www.dhr.yirginia.gov). Mr. Edwards provided a slideshow and discussed the DHR's role in historic preservation. At the end of his presentation, Mr. Edwards showed the HRAB some of the booklets and filers that the VDHR has. The HRAB stated that they would like a presentation from the Winchester -Frederick Historical Society at the September meeting if possible as well as Loudoun County's Historic Preservation Planner at a future meeting. The HRAB expressed interest in perusing future funding (cost share) to update Frederick County historic survey as well as grants for historic marker replacement. The meeting was adjourned at 9:OOpm Item # 2 Historic Plaque Program As discussed in prior HRAB meetings, there is desire to bring the Frederick County Historic Plaque Program back. Included with August's agenda was a copy of the properties that have already received plaques in the past, along with a list of the properties that were contacted in 1999 to see if they had interest in getting a plaque for their property. A copy of the past application and the interest letter was also provided. This item was on the August agenda; however, it was not discussed. Please bring the materials provided with your August agenda regarding the Historic Plaque Program to the September meeting. If you need additional copies of the materials please contact me.
