The HRAB will discuss the following items: AGENDA Discussion regarding implementation of a recently awarded Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation Grant. 2. Other. Therefore, it will be necessary to enter the building through the rear door of the Board Room. I would encourage committee members to park in the county parking lot located behind the new addition (accessible off of Cameron Street). 107 North Kent Street • Winchester, Virginia 22601-5000 Item # 1 Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation (SVBF') Project Implementation Grant Staff has applied for and received a grant from the SVBF in the amount of $8,000. (The application submitted for this grant is attached for your information.) The purpose of this grant is to fund a project to provide training to the Historic Resources Advisory Board (HRAB). The funding will be used to hire a consultant to provide assistance to the HRAB in the form of training to improve mediation skills, improve communication skills, and to improve the HRAB's ability to effectively review land use proposals and make recommendations. In addition to the training program, the SVBF has suggested the development of operational and review guidelines for the HRAB as part of this project. At this month's HRAB meeting, staff would like to discuss with members implementation of the grant project in more detail and also receive feedback from members regarding what they would like to gain through this project. Mr. Howard J. Kittel, Executive Director of the SVBF, will be present at the meeting.
