There will be a meeting of the Comprehensive Plans and Programs Committee on May 10,
1993 at 7:30 pm in the Conference Room of the Old County Court House.
Please let me know if you are unable to attend.
AGENDA
1) Discussion with Mr. John Hood with Winchester and Western Railroad.
2) Staff presentation and discussion of corridor maps for Routes 50, 7 and 11 South.
3) Discussion of format for public meetings on corridor studies.

1) Mr. Hood has requested to meet with the Committee to discuss issues relating to rail
use in the County.
2) Staff is working on preparing corridor maps on the computer which will be ready for
our meeting. The Committee will need to decide if the area delineated for the
corridors is adequate.
3) The Committee needs to begin to think about a format for the public meetings that
will encourage participation. Scheduling of the meeting dates and times, advertising
the meetings, information to be presented, displays, and methods of soliciting input
all need to be worked out.

of influence especially in the case of Route 50.

Do we want to hold two sets of meetings? A first round to introduce the idea of
the studies and get input on issues and a second to show alternate development
scenarios with regulations drafted to achieve the preferred alternative.
