Williams County Attorney DATE: February 7, 2022 RE: Frederick County Code, Chapter 7 (Elections), Section 7-3 (Central Absentee Voting Precinct) Attached please find a draft proposed amendment to Section 7-3 of the County Code, to permit the Office of Elections/General Registrar to use the temporary space at Sunnyside Plaza, in addition to the location at the County Administration Building, for in-person absentee/early voting for any 2022 elections. The County is currently in the bid process for a project to renovate permanent space for future location of the Office of Elections/General Registrar at the building across the parking lot at Sunnyside Plaza, but that project would not be complete in time for any 2022 elections. At such time as that project may approach completion, the Board might then entertain a further amendment to Section 7-3, to reflect the final location of the Office of Elections/General Registrar for this purpose.
