Fred Stine, County Agent and Harry L. McCann were read and approved. ROAD MATTERS Requests for the following additions to the Secondary Road System were made and on motion of H. M. Fout and seconded by William Carpenter. This Board recommends to the Virginia State Highway Commission that the following roads be added. No. I. Leaving route 522 a short distance north of Back Creek Bridge and extending North about J mile to the residence of Frank L. Fout. No. 2. Beginning in Route No. 693 near the residence of Clinton Tinsman and extending eastward one mile to the Jobb DeHaven Farm. BILLS APPROVED Accounts totaling $2131-.9 were approved and ordered to be paid from the General County Fund by Warrants numbers 9404 to 9434 inclusive and F. W..Pingley's Salary to be paid from the Dog Fund by warrant No. 808. Light LEVY According to an advertisement far Public Hearing as to the levy as set for the fiscal year beginning July I, 1946 and ending June 30th, inclusive, 1947. There being no taxpayers appearing before the Board relative to the levy as set by the Board, the Board hereby confirms the Levy as set, which is as follows; - „�.40 cents on the $I00.00 valuation - General County Levy I00 cents on the $I00.00 valuation - County School Levy 60.cents on the $200.00 valuation - Special Levy for building new School building. Sale of Real Estate Upon motion and duly passed the Board agreed to accept the offer of Irene M. McFarland of One Hundred Fifty ($150.00) Dollars Cash for the purchase of a tract of land lying'in Back Creek District, Frederick County, Virginia formerly owned by Juliet Miller. Yellott, Resident_Road Engineer,.8ppeared before the Board and presented the tentative Secondary -Road Budget of the amount of $156,047.00 of which $40,726.00 was Secondary Federal Aid. After a discussion of the items contained therein and on motion duly seconded it was approved as submitted. BILLS APPROVED Accounts totaling $2,318.42 were approved and ordered to be paid from the General County Fund by warrants numbers 9435 to 9477 inclusive and Livestock claims and F. W. Pingley, salary totaling $I19..79 were approved and ordered to be paid from the Dog Fund by warrant numbers 809 to 8I9 inclusive. It is ordered that the Board do now adjourn. Yellott, District Road Engineer were read and approved. r 307 Mr. Speak of Augusta County appeared before the Board relative to the Hospitalization of Indigent persons and a state proposition of matching fund for the suppor of such cases.No action was taken. ROAD YATTERS A petition was presented by Joseph A. Massie, Attorney, signed by a number of citizens living on route 64I requesting this Board to recommend to the Departmer of Highways that the said route be hard surfaced from Double Churches to the Warren - Frederick County line and upon motion the Highway Department is requested to make the above improvements if funds are available. DELINQUENT TAX The County Treasurer, Harry L. McCann presented to the Board the list of Delinquent Personal property for the tax year of 1945 as of June 30, 1946 in the amount of $I,02I.44 and also the Delinguent Real Estate list for the tax year of I945 as of June 30, 1946 in the amount of $2,209.40. The total being $3,230.84 which upon motion was unaminously approved. PARKING METERS IN THE CITY OF WINCHESTER Upon motion duly seconded the following Resolution was unanimously adopted - Resolved: That the city of Winchester do not install Parking Meters along the South side of Rouss Avenue alongside the County Court House from the East side of Loudoun Street to the intersection with the Plaza. BILLS APPROVED Accounts totlaing $2,699.86 were approved and ordered to be paid from the General County Fund by warrants numbers 9478 to 9599 inclusive and Livestock claims and F. W. Pingley's salary totaling $39 - were approved and ordered to be paid from the Dog Fund by Warrants numbers 820 to 833 inclusive. Pingley, Game Warden were read and approved. ROAD VIEWERS Upon motion and duly seconded,H. E. Pingley, Carroll Solenberger, Carlton Ramey, Amos Lillard and C. W. Franks were appointed Road Viewers to view proposed secondary road additions and to recommend to this Board as to whether these additions c shopld be added to the Road system. ROADS Upon motion the Clerk is ordered to notify Carroll Solenberger, 308 Carlton Ramey and Amos Lillard to their appointment as Road Viewers and for them to report at the County Clerk's Office on Sept. 17, 1946 to qualify. ROADS On motion this Board goes on record commending F. M. Yellott, District Road Engineer for his excellent management of the Frederick County Ro ads during the year ending July I, I946. SCHOOL BOARD APPROPIATION Upon motion of G. W. Lemley and seconded by William Carpenter and duly passed the Treasurer is ordered to transfer $29,000.00 from the General County Fund to the School Fund. n SCHOOL FUND Upon motion it is ordered that the School Fund)shall receive during the current year the full amount of the Current School Levy. This will be accomplished by paying from the fTeneral County Fund to the School Fund the amount of the School Levy and placing the total tax income to the credit of the General Fund, and the County Treasures i directed to transfer these funds as the money becomes available. JANITOR - APPLICANTS On motion the Clerk is ordered to place an advertisement in the Winches Evening Star once each week for three successive weeks, for applicants for a Janitor at the Court House, Hugh L. Carper having resigned. BILLS APPROVED Accounts totaling $2,902.92 were approved and ordered to be paid from the General County Fund by warrants numbers 9600 to 9637 inclusive and Livestock Claims and F. W. Pingley's salary, totaling $176.05 were approved and ordered to be paid from the Dog Fund by warrant numbers 834 to 839 inclusive.
