At the Regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Frederick County Virginia,.
held in the.Supervisors Room over the Clerk's office on Monday December 8, 1941.
P R E S E N T
C. M. Rosenberger, Chairman, H. M. Fout, H. C. Light, G. W. Lemley, William
Carpenter and W. E. Edwards, Commonwealths Attorney.
The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved.
REPORTS OF T. W. BISSELL. I. FRED ST1INE_ MISS SPROUSE
The report of T. W. Russell, Supt of the County Home, I.. Fred Stine, County
Agent, Miss Sprouse Home Demonstration Agent, were respectively presented by them,
and each report was approved.
RELOCATION OF ROUTE 669 STI'ONEWALL DISTRICT.
The Board after consideration of the report of the Commissioners appointed to
view and report on the above Route where it passes through the property, of Mr. Oscar
Leight, does not at this time take any,action thereon, but the Clerk is hereby directed
to notify Mr. Leight to appear before this Board at its next regular meeting to the end
that they may discuss the report with him with a view to adjusting their differences.
LADIES REST ROOM.
Mrs. H. A. Funk, acting as chairman of a deligation of ladies, appeared before the
Board again, in regard to improving the facilities of the "Ladies Rest Room and waiting
Room'.
Mrs. Funk reported that a committee of the Ladies interested had visited and
inspected the facilities in Harrisonburg, Va., recently. They reported that the Ladies
Romm in that City, which is supported and maintained jointly by the City and the County
of Rockingham, is comprised of three rooms, being a good sized waiting room in which are
comfortable chairs, newspapers and magazines a paystation telephone and another room in
which a bed or cot is maintained for the convenience of patrons; also that a hot plate
stove is kept there, and that the rooms are in charge of a full time matron.
The Board assured the Ladies that they were favorably considering the proposal and
would continue to work toward a solution..
BAILEY BROTHERS LEASE HITCHING YARD PROPERTY.
After some discussion of the problem for the Storage of the surplus commodities
for the V.elfare Department it was unanimously decided that the Clerk of this Board should
notify Bailey Brothers the present tenant at the Hitching Yard Property that upon the
expiration of the present lease which will be July 1, 1942, and it is understood that
this notification shall act as the required legal notice to termin the present lease,
the Board desires to reserve the room on Market street, located at the South end of the
Building, and take a new lease for the period of one year upon the remainder of the
premises at the present rental.

DANIEL POOLE ASSIST
Upon motion of Mr. Light seconded by Mr. Fout it is ordered that John W. Harper

be allowed the stun of Three Dollars ($3.00) per creek for waiting on and cara*ing for
Daniel Poole, who is incapacitated from carrying for himself. Said compensation to start
from November 30, 1941 until further order of the Board.
REPORT OF I. FRED STINE, COUNTY AGENT AND HIS RE- APPOINBAENT AS AGENT.
Mr. I. Fred Stine, County Agent presented his annual report and the same was
unanimously approved.
After hearing said report a large deligation of Farmers and Taxpayers headed
by Mr. E. M. Funk, Chairman of the AAA program outlined to the Board the increased
activities and work of Mr. Stines office and requested that the Board increase the pay
mf the Agent, paid by the County from $720.00 to $900.00 beginning with the calendar
year 1942, upon consideration of the request no action was taken thereon at this time.
This being the time to appoint the County Agent for the coming year, upon
motion of Mr. Light seconded by Mr. Lemley and unanimously passed Mr. I. Fred Stine
is hereby employed as County Agent for the ensuing year.
TRIAL JUSTICE AND CLE a TO TRIAL JUST ICE.
A.J.Tavenner, Trial Justice for this County presented a petition requesting an
increase in the pay of the Trial Justice and his C1erk,Mrs. Virginia Ritter, in a
substancial amount. No action was taken thereon at this time.
Accounts totaling $2,066.63 were approved and ordered paid from the G
County Fund by warrants 6131 to 6184 inclusive.
Sheep claims totaling $213.96 were approved and ordered to be paid from the
Dog Fund by warrants Nos. 503 to 510 inclusive..
It is ordered that the Board now adjourn.
