November 2 2016 Minutes of Board Retreat Follow Up���
A work session of the Frederick County Board of Supervisors was held on Wednesday,
November 2, 2016, at 5:00 PM in the First Floor Conference Room of the Frederick County
Administration Building, 107 North Kent Street, Winchester, Virginia.
PRESENT
Charles S. DeHaven, Jr., Chairman; Gene E. Fisher, Vice- Chairman; Blaine P. Dunn;
Robert A. Hess; Gary A. Lofton; Judith McCann- Slaughter; and Robert W. Wells.
OTHERS PRESENT
Brenda G. Garton, County Administrator and Kris C. Tierney, Deputy County
Administrator for Community Development.
CAT.T., TO ORDER
Chairman DeHaven called the work session to order.
The purpose of the work session was to review the Board's draft vision and strategic
targets in order to finalize the document so it could be formally adopted by the Board at its
November 9, 2016 meeting.
The Board reviewed its proposed 2036 vision, which would be achieved through focusing
on the following target areas:
- A Premier Business Location
- Balanced Land Use
- Fiscal Responsibility
- Communication and Citizen Engagement
- State of the Art Education
- Well Planned Infrastructure
- Safe Community.
The Board directed staff to prepare the fznal version of the 2036 vision and present it at
the Board's November 9, 2016 meeting for adoption.
There being no further business, the work session was adjourned at 6:45 PM.
