RE: Revenue Sharing Application
DATE: March 5, 2008
Staff is seeking resolution from the Board of Supervisors to proceed with application for revenue
sharing funds for the Renaissance Drive project from Route 11 to Shady Elm Drive.
Staff is preparing an application for $1,000,000.00 in revenue sharing dollars from VDOT with a
$1,000,000.00 local match. In addition, due to anticipated new state law, staff is advising that
the County offer to manage the project.
__ This year's revenue sharing program has $50 million available statewide and an anticipated
modified tiering system for consideration of projects. To make it into the first tier of
consideration, localities must be committed to managing their own projects.
