051-08RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FREDERICK COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS "REVENUE SHARING PROGRAM" FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008 -2009 Action: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS: March 12, 2008 �1 APPROVED ❑DENIED WHEREAS, the County of Frederick desires to submit an application for and allocation of funds of up to $1,000,000.00 through the Virginia Department of Transportation Fiscal Year 2008 -2009, Revenue Sharing Program; and, WHEREAS, $1,000,000.00 of these funds are requested to fund the construction of Renaissance Drive, a new public road, from Route 11 to Shady Elm Drive, with a traffic light at Route 11; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, the Frederick County Board of Supervisors supports this application for an allocation of up to $1,000,000.00 through the Virginia Department of Transportation "Revenue Sharing Program ". Bishop AICP, Deputy Director - Transportation RE: Revenue Sharing Application DATE: March 5, 2008 Staff is seeking resolution from the Board of Supervisors to proceed with application for revenue sharing funds for the Renaissance Drive project from Route 11 to Shady Elm Drive. Staff is preparing an application for $1,000,000.00 in revenue sharing dollars from VDOT with a $1,000,000.00 local match. In addition, due to anticipated new state law, staff is advising that the County offer to manage the project. __ This year's revenue sharing program has $50 million available statewide and an anticipated modified tiering system for consideration of projects.
