This recommendation was forwarded along with drafts of the plans to the Planning Commission for consideration. The Planning Commission held a public hearing on August 16, 2006. There were no citizen comments. No issues or areas of concern were raised by the Planning Commission and they - unanimously recommended approval. (Note: Commissioners Watt and Oates were absent from the meeting.) You will find that there are no significant changes to the Interstate and Primary plans, with the exception of expanding upon the scope of Route 11 improvements and increased consideration of safety improvements to I-81. There is continued emphasis on completion of Route 37 as a priority for the County. In the Secondary Road Improvements Plan, a number of projects have been added as revenue sharing; rural hard-surfacing requests have been rated and the three with the highest rankings have been moved from the unscheduled to the scheduled list. Those roadways are Chestnut Grove Road, Indian Hollow Road, and Ridings Mill Road. The 2007-2008 Interstate, Primary, and Secondary Road Improvement Plans have been advertised as a public hearing for the Board's September 13, 2006 meeting.
