TO: Board of Supervisors
FROM: John R. Riley, Jr., County Administrat r
SUBJECT: Hurricane Relief Resolution
DATE: September 8, 2005
Frederick County has received numerous requests to assist with the continued recovery
`~ efforts along the Gulf Coast following the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. One of
the first requests was a challenge from Brunswick County, VA to match their donation of
$25,000 to this effort. After reviewing the requests. and consultation with emergency
operations officials, Staff recommends that the Board authorize the County Administrator
to look at the availability of physical assets and support and deploy said available assets
where they are most needed.
Staffhas prepared the appropriate resolution for Board action, if you deem it proper.
