At the regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of
Frederick County, Virginia, held in the Supervisor's Room over the Clerks Office on
November 8, I943.

The minutes of the last meeting held the IIth day of
October, I943 were read and approved.

The reports of T. W. Russell, Superintendent of the
County Home, I. Fred Stine, County Agent, F. tie, Pingley, Game Warden and Harry L. McCann,
Treasurer were respectively resented by them and approved.
INCREASE OF I. FRED STINE IS SALARY
A delegation appeared before the Board and requested an
increase in the salary of the County Agent. After cue consideration thereof and upon
the Motion of H. C. Light and seconded by H. M. Fout it was decided not to increase the
salary. H. C. Light, H. M. Fout and William Carpenter voted against an increase and
C. I.I. Rosenberger and h. M. Lemley voted for an increase.
BILLS APPROVED
Accounts totaling $2,870.I2 were approved and ordered to
be paid fro- the General County fund by Warrants numbers 7487 to 7657 inclusive and
live stock claims and F. W. Pinrley's salary totaling $$73.75 were approved and ordered to
be raid from the Vog Fund by warrants numbers 630 to 632 inclusive.
It is ordered that the Board do now adjourn.

' Upon motion of H. C. Light and seconded by G. 'd. Lemley

the following resolution was passed: "That a section of old Route 55 from the Shenandoah
(County line at Cedar Creek Bridge to the intersection of nevi route 55 just west of Route
1604 be abandoned as a public road. LengtIT -of section to be abandoned - 430 Ft. shown
the attached sketch in blue."
CRIPPLED CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
Upon motion of G. W. Lemley and seconded by William
(Carpenter it is unanmously ordered that Twenty Five Dollars be paid out of the general
County fund to Board of Managers of the Crippled Children's Hospital, Richamond, Virginia.
COUNTY AGENT'S SALARY
A delegation appeared before the Board and requested an
increase in the salary of the County Agent, after some discussion and due consideration of
the matter and upon the motion of H. C. Light and seconded by H. M. Fout it was decided
to increase the salary.voting against an increase were H. C. Light, Gilliam Carpenter,
. I:'_. Fout and G. W. Lemley.
IN'MENT OF COUNTY AGENT
No action was taken in regard to the appointment of a
County Agent for the year of I944.
RT HOUSE COM. ITTEE
Upon the motion of rI. IR. Fout and seconded by William
Carpenter, and passed by the unanimous vote of the Board, it is resolved that J. Sloan
11, H. K. Benham, Richard E. Griffith, G. N. Lemley and h. C. Light be and they
re hereby appointed a Comnittee to make all necessary arrangements, to make all necessary
epairs to the Court House building; and they are likewise authorized and directed to
m ake arrangements for plastering and painting the interior of the Court Room and the
exterior of the Court House building. Also said Committee is appointed, authorized and
directed to obtain pictures of such deceased judges, members of the Bar and County
Officials as may not be in the Court House and as may be obtainable. The Committee is
further authorized and directed to arrange in the Court Doom the pictures, selected by the
Committee, and cause a suitable notation to be put under the pictures concerning the life
of the subject. Also, the Committee is authorized and directed to incur such expense
as is reasonably necessary, in the judgment of the Committee, to accomplish this purpose.
ILLS APPROVE
Accounts totaling $I834.50 were apr.roved and ordered to be
aid from the General County Fund by't- arrants numbers 7658 to 7696 inclusive and Livestock
claims and F. Z7. Pingley's salary totaling $$94.25 were aprroved and ordered to be paid
from the bog fund by warrants numbers 633 to 638 inclusive.
It is ordered that the Board to now adjourn.
