Brumback, Chairman; E. W. Adams; C. M. Rosenberger; and W. H. Brenner. ABANDONMENT AND ADDING TO THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM On motion, it is unanimously approved that Section 1, old location of Route 11 from new location at Station 103/50 as shown on plans of Project 685 -C -123 South and Southwest of 0.217 mi. to new location at Station 114/50, Section 2 from Stdion 180 10 West and Southwest 0.115 mi. to Station 18600 Section 4 from Station 335/00 looping Westwardly 0.25 mi. to Ste. 348/00 Total length to be abandoned 0.582 mi. Add to the S system, connection built from old location at. intersection of Route 665 Northwest 0.037 mi. to new location Total length to be added to secondary system 0.037 mi. Drop from the primary system but retain R/W old location of Route 11 from Sta. 197/40 South 0.05 mi. to Route 665, thence Southwest 0.097 mi. through the Quarry Property of Virginia Dept. of Highways Length 0.147 mi. Adams, MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 2, 1939 and the Special Meeting of January 13, 1939, were read and approved Route 629 On motion of W. H. Branner, seconded by C. Y. Rosenberger, the Board hereby petitions the highway Department to take into the Secondary Highway System all of the road known as # 629 from # 628 to # 622 which said if 629 was a County road and worked as a secondary road prior to the time the State took over the secondary roads from the Counties, and this Board unanimously requests that the State Highway Department continue the maintenance of # 629 from # 628 to # 622, (having minimum right of way of 30 feet.) REPORT OF T. W. RUSSELL T. W. Russell, Superintendent of the County Home, presented his report, and the same was unanimously approved. 152 SHEEP CLAIM OF RAYMOND L. MARTIN The Sheep Claim of Raymond L. Martin of White Post was deferred for further investigation relative to residence whether in Frederick or Clarke County. (Later in the Day this claim was approved.) SALARY OF TREASURER, COY PR . - OF REVENUE, AND COtTION ATTY On motion, the salary and expense account of the Treasurer, Commissioner of Revenue, and Commonwealth's Attorney of Frederick County as fixed by the Compensation. Board is unanimously appro-ved-. RESOLUTION OF WINCHESTER MEMORIAL HOSPITAL DEFERRED The resolution from the Winchester Memorial Hospital relative to the County Health Unit is deferred. HOSPITAL TO BE NOTIFIED TO HAVE REPRESENTATIVE COME B THE BOARD It is ordered that the Winchester Memorial Hospital be notified to have a representative appear before the Board of 5 upervisiors of Frederick County at their next Regular Meeting which is to be held on Monday, March 6, 1939. DAMAGES DONE BY DOGS TO BE REPORTED IINEDIATELY TO GAME WARDEN By order of the Board of Supervisors, all claims of damages done by dogs to live stock and poultry must be taken up with the Game Warden as soon as damage is done in order to receive compensation for said claims. REPORT OF MISS BLAIR Miss Madeline Blair, Home Demonstration Agent, presented her report and the same was unamiously approved. It is ordered that C. I. Brumback prepare the budget for the next fisical year and he is to be allowed $50.00 for same. HITCHING YARD On motion of Mr. Branner seconded by Mr.Adams the following resolution was unamiously adopted.on a recorded vote. J Whereas, the Sanitary Grocery"[,Corporation has been endeavoring to make agreement with the Board of Supervisors on the erection and renting of a uidding to be put on the Hitching Yard and,. (the Board of Supervisors and) Whereas,/the said Sanitary Grocery Corporation has been unable to reach an agreement for a contract for same, it is ordered that negotiations with said Sanitary Grocery Corporation be discontinued. For the said resolution, Mr. Gold, Mr. Branner, Mr. Adams, . Rosenberger and Mr. Brumback also voted for said resolution for the following reason: At an opportune time the Hitching Yard can be paved over and made into a parking place and the building may be converted into a county market. The Clerk of this Board is ordered to send a copy of this res- olution to the Sanitary Grocery Corporation in Washington, D. C. ROAD On motion the following resolution was unamiously adopted. i 1)3 J I. Whereas, on Monday, May 2, 1938, the following order was entered. The Boaad of Supervisors are of the opinion that it is necessary to alter the location of a public road, to wit: The Wardinsville Grade leading from Route #50 to Mt. Williams. It further appbints, E. M. Funk, H. Tilden Snapp, W. S. Huyett, Elijah Pifere, and John W. Larrick, Jr. as viewers, all of whom are resident free- holders of the County of Frederick , any thie e'.'of whom may act. The said viewers - shall - examine such road and Routes and shall report at the next regular meeting of this Board to be held on the 8th day of June, 1938, as follows: Upon the expediency of altering the location of said Public Road and, Whereas, the said viewers have not yet made a report, they are and hereby requested to view said road on February 10, 19381 filettir'_ report with the Clerk of said board. INVESTIGATION OF DAMAGES DONE BY DOGS On motion of Mr. Gold, seconded by Mr. Branner, it was unamiously ordered that F. W. Pingley, game warden, continue his service of investigation of daLnages done by Bogs and making a closes check on dogs to see that all dogs are licen- sed, until July 1, 1939, at the same rate of pay he has received for th6 past six months, all persons having live stock or poultry killed or damaged by dogs, are re- quested to notify the game warden at once, as soon as the damage is done so that he may make proper investigation in order that they may receive compensation as soon as possible after said damage is done. Bills totaling $ 2385.80 were approved and ordered to be paid out of the General County Fund by Warrants Nos. 3613 - 3679 inclusive Bills totaling $ 33.24 were approved and ordered to be paid out of the Dog Fund by Warrants Nos. 301 -303 inclusive.
