Mr. T. J. Gdry of the Coleman Andrews Company, Public Accountants appeared before the Board in the interest of his firm for the purpose of auditing the books of the County. Upon motion of C. M. Rosenberger seconded by Mr. Gold the question of the employment of an auditior was deferred for the present. John M. Massey Superintendent of the County Home submitted his report for the month of August, 1934 and the dame was unanimously approved. wi i - : 40 1 91 - 11 0 - 11 A member of citizens from the County appeared before the board and presented a petition of twenty -seven citizens asking that a road leading from the M. E. Church near Star Tannery Post Office, in a southeasterly direction to the Shenandhah County Line be taken in to the secondary road system as soon as the board of Supervisors procures rights of ways for same over the old road bed, and on motion the Board unanimously recommends that the State Highway Commission take said road into the secondary road system according to the aforementioned terms, and the Glerk is directed to send a copy of the petition and this minute to the State Highway Commission at Richmond, Va. 1,:1_PRI ; 1 On motion the Clerk is instructed to write the Rockingham Memorial Hospital that their communication would be answered later. :V 1 1) d:. 10 1 i. Notice from the State Compensation Board that Wednesday, Sept. 12, 1934 had been fixed as the time for hearing the objection of this Board to the salary allowan< for the Attorney for the Commonwealth was read. Upon motion, it is ordered that C. I. IBrimback and E. W. Adams be designated as members of this Board to attend the hearing in Richmond, On Sept. 12. These members are instructed to vote for a salary for the six montl ending Dec. 31, 1934, of Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars less 15% or Six Hundred and Thirt3 S Dollars and Fifty cents net instead of Five Hundred and r'ifty Dollars net, fixed by the State Compensation Board. The Board went on record as apposed to any salary increase to any offi at this time, but likewise apposed to the large reduction made by the State Compensation Board in the salary of the Attorney for the Commonwealth of Frederick County in the light of allbwances made for Counti®B of similar population in other parts of the State. Xf G. P. Bozel resident engineer appeared before the Hoard and requested that the Williams Road number 610 be abandoned and on motion the Board unanimously approv the abandonment of said road and the Clerk is ordered to mail a copy of this order to the State Highway Commission at Richmond, Va. ,27 CURVES ON ROUTE N0, 7 On motion C. I. Brumback, Chairman, B. P. Harrison, Commonwealth's Attorney , Senator T. Russel Cather and E. W. Adams are appointed a committee to take up the widening of the road at Hietts Curve and Potters Hill on State Route No. 7 with the State Highway Commission in Richmond, Va., Wednesday S 12, 1934, and the Clerk is to mail a copy of this order to the State Highway Commission. ,.�+• I; I � ill• . I d. �ii �1.; iJ Miss Hurst of the Emergencyy Relief presented her report for the month of August 1934, and the same was unanimously approved. 514 I YA (GRO100 6 41 WWWW O On motion Mr. Brumback and Mr. Gold are appointed a committee to confer with the City Manager with reference to erecting an office for emergency, relief in the City Hall . Miss Cameron the County Red Cross Nurse was introduced to the Board by Mrs. Hicks who made some appropriate remarks relative to her new duties of Red Cross Nurse for Frederick County Virginia. On motion the Clerk is requested to draw a warrant on the General County Road Fund for Two Hundred Dollars transferring the same to the General County Fund said amount is largely derived from the sale of road machinery and back taxes. SALE OF PIPING The Chairman reported the sale of all the old piping to Lemleys at Stephens City. On motion C. I. Brumback, Chairman, is authorized to sell all the old County Noad Machinery belonging to the County now in the hitching yard and also a grader at Stephens City to the best advantage possible. a�• I s! I s ± ±� �� ,L I �- � Fred Stine County Agent presented his monthly report and the same was unanimously approved and ordered to be filed. RENEWAL OF NOTE On motion the following resolution was unanimously adopted, "Whereas of June 11, 1934 the County borrowed $8000.00 for durrent expenses the same to be paid t in D 1934 out of the 1934 taxes and said note was drawn for 90 days falling due Sept. 1935, the chairman is ordered to renew the same and a warrant shall be drawn to pay the discount on said renewal.
