TYPEW - COUhTY COURT Upon request of Virginia Ritter, Judge W. E. Edwards is granted permission to purch a new I.B.M. electric typewriter for the Office of the County Judge. I ROAD BUDGE Upon motion, duly made and seconded,t he following resolution was passed: BE IT RESOLVED, That this Board hereby approves the 1960 -61 Final Secondary Road Rudget for Frederick County, as submitted by C. G. Coffman, Resudebt Engineer. ROA DS_ Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following resolution was p WHEREAS, after due consideration and upon the recommendations of the said Resident Engineer, it is the sense of this Board that Route 739, between Route 522 and Route 672, is inadequate for the present day traffic and is the most needed project on the Secondary System in this County after the construction of those projects previously selected. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that this Board of Supervisors requests the Departmentcf Highways to take the necessary steps to have the project, as described above, constructed and /or reconstructed as a Federal Aid Secondary AProject from funds accrued and /or accruing to Frederick County, as soon as is financially feasible after the financing of those projects previously selected. I 265 CHAIR AND DESK FOR SHERIFF'S OFFICE Upon motion duly made and seconded, it is ordered that the Sheriff, be, and' hereby is granted permission to purchase a chair and desk for use in his office. VARIANCE - WINCHESTER CONCRETE PRODUCTS, INC. Upon motion of Grover Teetsand seconded by W. Hurl Himelright, the follow- ing petition of the Winchester Concrete Products, Inc. for a variance was referred to the Fred- erick County Planning Commission: The undersigned, Winchester Concrete Products, Incorporated, respectfully i petitions the Frederick County Do a rd of Supervisors and the Frederick County Planning Commission for a variance from existing zoDing regulations for the purpose of converting an existing resi- dence located on the lands of said corporation to use as an office building for said corporation] the approximate location of said building as shown on the attached plat. The corporation contemplates remodeling the existing dwelling to change its appearance to that of an office building including the erection on said building of a sign approximately thirty (30 feet long and three (3 feet high designating the name of the cor- poration; building is situate on lands of the corporation contiguous to land on which is now situated the corporation's plant for the manufacture of concrete products; as shown on the attached plat the corporation's land extends to a point approximately two hundred (200 feet distant from U. S. Route 11 (Martinsburg Pike) along the Welltown Pike. The Frederick County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission has pre- viously granted a variance t o the corporation for the purpose or erecting a new office building just East of the house now proposed to be remodeled but the corporation has found that the con- struction of.such a new building is not economically advantageous. The resolution of the Treasury Board of the State of Virginia', adopted on the 3rd day of October, 1960, certified copy of which is attached hereto, agreeing to purchase Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($350 School Bonds of Frederick County, Virginia, is hereby agreed to in all respects and said bonds shall be issued in conform- ity with the provisions of such resolution. 2. A certified copy of this resolution, having a certified copy of said resolution of the Treasury Board of the State of Virginia attached, shall be pre- sented to the Board of Supervisors of Frederick County for its approval. with are hereby repealed. Pursuant to Chapter 19.2 of Title 15 of the Code of Vir- ginia and the resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Supplemental Retirement System heretofore adopted on the fifth day of May, 1960, the Virginia Supplemental Retirement System shall purchase Three Hundred Fifty Thousand ($350,000) School Bonds of Frederick County, Vir- SS: ginia, at par and accrued interest. 2. Said bonds shall be in coupon form without provision for registration. 3. The principal of and interest on said bonds shall be payable at State- Planters Bank of Commerce and Trusts, Richmond, Virginia, or, at the option of the holdert hereof, at Farmers and Merchants National Bank, Winchester, Virginia. 4.
