AUTHORIZATION EXPENSES OF THL COURT HJUSE IMPROVEMEN COMMITTEE Upon motion of Grover Teets and seconded by Paul Luttrell, the following resolution was passed: Resolved, That authority, be); ind he --eby is granted the Frederick County Court House Committee for improvements to the Frederic County Court House for expenses incurred by said Committee in an amount not to exceed one thousind dollars. - WTNCHI�lSTFR CONCRETE PRODUCTS CO. ZJNED AHEAIB The Planning Commission of the County reported to the Board of Supervisor the result of their investigation into the petition of 4inchester Concrete Products Co. for a variance in Zoned Area "B" for the purpose of building an office building on their oroperty, part of which would be 50' within the Zoned Area; and according to plans and specifications fil therewith. The report approved the petition for a variance. On motion duly made and seconded the following resolution was adopted on first and second readings: BE IT'RESOLVED, That the Board variance by Winchester Concrete Products Co. to build Zoned Area "B" Be it further resolved that a T Supervisors approve the petition for office building on their property in zblic hearing of this matter be held in the building on April 11, 1960 at 11:00 A.M. room of the Board of Supervisors in the County Office and that the Clerk duly advertise said hearing. The petition of the Winchester �oncrete Products Co. for a variance in Zoned Area "B" to build an office building within 350'1 of U. S. Highway #11 was received from the �a = - and duly examined and investigated. After due consideration the following resolution was adopted. BE IT RESOLVED, That the petiti�n of the Winchester Concrete Products Co. for a valiance in Zoned Area "B" for the erection of an office building within 350 feet of U. S. Highway #11 be granted according to plans and specific tions filed herewithi and that the reso- lution be promptly reported to the Board of Supervisor . COMMITTEE - PLAZA Upon request of J. P. Arthur of the Apple Blossom Com mittee that Lars. Nuger be granted permission to use the Plaza for Amusements Wednesday through early Sunday Morning, April 2'7, 1960 to 1 1960 to be used as in former years. Upon motion duly seconded, it n unanimously decided to grant the above requested permission; subject however, to the followin restrictions: that no bricks be damaged,, all damage to meters to be paid, no stakes be driven, no wires to be used; and further it is not to be used for living quarters. Bond is to be posted if declared necessary by said Board. STEAK HOUSE Dii. W. D. MYERS - VARIANCE On motion by Paul Luttrell, seconded by Charles Garber, the following resolution was duly adopted, after due notice a6d public hearing: BE IT RESOLVED, That the petition of Dr. Psalter D. Myers for a variance in Zoned Area A permitting the conversion of that certain property known as the Steak House, formerly . used as a restaurant, into a multiply dwelling property, in accordance with the plans and speci- fications submitted, be, and the same is hereby granted. WINCHESTEti CONCRETE PRODUCTS On motion by Grover Teets, seconded by Charles Garber, the following reso- lution was duly adopted, after due notice and public hearing: BE IT RESOLVED, that that the petition of Winchester Concrete Products Company for a variance in Zoned Area B to construct an office building on its property within 350 feet of U. S. Highway No. 11, in a ccordance with its plans and specifications submitted, be, and the same is hereby granted. BOARD OF PUBLIC WELFARE - TENTATIVE BUDGET Mrs. Roberta A. James, Superintendent of Public Welfare appeared before the Board and presented the tentative Welfare Budget for the year beginning on the first day of July, 1960 and ending on the 30th day of June, 1961. Approval was continued until the May Term. 248 I JANITRESS - LADIES REST ROOM Mrs. Eva Smedley having resigned as janitress of the Ladies Rest Room I as of the 30th day of March, 1960, Mrs. Blanch Bodkin was appointed in her place and stead for I term beginning on the first day of April, 1960. Salary was fixed at the same as ors. Smedley i received. BILLS PAYABLE Accounts totaling $6760 were approved and ordered to be paid from the General County Fund by warrants numbered 19799 to Zered 53 inclusive; and livestock claims, fowl claims and Henry S. Bursey's salary viere approved and to be paid from the Dog Fund total- ing $365 .50 by warrants numbered 1898 to 1902 inclusiie. ADDITIONAL DEPUTY SHERIFF Robert L. DeHavcn, Sheriff of Frederick County renewed his request for an additional Deputy Sheriff. The Chairman asked for motion on the matter. No motion was offered. RABIES - ORDINANCE The ordinance requiring compulsory rabies vaccination for dogs in Frederick County was ordered to be continued until thelJune meeting. 0 i y 249 RELOCATION - RJUTE 340 The following resolution was passed: Whereas, this Board having been ' advised by letter dated April 20, 1960, together with sketch prepared by the Location and Design, Division, Richmond, Virginia, dated t,.arch 15, 1960, showing the recommendations of the Highway Department for the disposition of sections of the old Route 340, due to the construction and re- location of Route 340, Project 0340- 093 -102, and request this Board's approval, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED: This Board approves the recommendations of the State Highway Department in the disposition of the following section of old Route 340, due to construe It appearing to the Board that is is necessary to have road viewers ion and relocation of Project 1340- 093 -102, under section 33 -27 of the Code of Virginia, 1950. ADDITION TO THE SECONDARY SYSTEM Upon motion duly made and seconded it is ordered that Section No. 1 From the Warren County Line to opposite Station 287f00, Length 0.14 Mi. be added to the Secondary Road System. WELFARE APPROPRIATION Upon motion duly made and seconded, it is ordered that an additional appropriation of $2500.00 be transferred by the Treasurer from the General County Fund to the Frederick County Board of Public Welfare. ROAD VIEWERS appointed, upon motion duly made and seconded, it is ordered that Harry Heishman, Sloan Wolfe, Carroll Sblenberger, Joseph L. Jollif£e and Ray Rinker, be, and hereby are appointed road viewers. It is further ordered that they report to the County Clerk's Office on Friday, June 3, 1960 at 10:00 A.M. to be qualified and view certain roads. MARJEC, INC. - 'IQ "R" "S On motion duly made and seconded, it is ordered that the Plats of Sections " Q " Lots 1 -40, "R" Lots 3 -21, A -F, 22 -41 and "S" Lots 2 -29 and 32 -59 of Shawneeland of Marjec, Inc be accepted and approved by the Board of Supervisors and be recorded among the land records of said County; after approval on the face of the plats by the County Health Department and the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. ALDIE SUBDI On motion duly made and seconded, it is ordered that the plat of Little A1die Subdivision be accepted and recorded among the land records of the County; after the plat has been approved on its face by the Highway Department and then by the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors.
