PLAT - SHAWNEE LAND - SECTION D ` I
On motion duly made by Byron Brumback and seconded by Grover Teets, the

following resolution was adopted:

RESOLVED that the deed of dedication and plat of Marjec, Inc., for section
"D" of Shawnee Land be tentatively approved and that the same be presented to the Frederick County
Health Department for their consideration and approval; and same be called up for final approval
at the October, 1957, meeting of the Board of Supervisors.
PLAT - SHAWNEE LAND - SECTION C. - MARJEC INC.
On motion duly made by Grover Teets and seconded by C. E. Garber, the
following resolution was adopted: Be It,
RESOLVED, that the Plat of "Shaw- nee -land Section C" of Marjec, Incor-
porated located about ten (10) miles West of Winchester, Virginia, in Back Creek District, Fred-
erick County, Virginia, be, and the same is hereby approved as to the size of lots and location
of streets, and the Deed of Dedication attached thereto, and that the same be recorded within
sixty (60) days from the date hereof,by the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Frederick County,
Virginia, upon presentation of the same by Marjec, Incorporated, and upon compliance with all
the directions of the ordinances of the County of Frederick.
PLAT - BETHEL HEIGHTS - SECTION 2
On motion, duly made by L. R. Omps and seconded by Byron Brumback, the
following resolution was adopted: Be It,
RESOLVED' that the Plat of Bethel Heights Subdivision Section Two of
Richard U. Goode and Kathleen C. Goode, his wife, in Gainesboro District, Frederick County,
Virginia, about 4j miles Northwest of Winchester, Virginia, be, and the same is hereby approved
as to the size of lots and location of streets, and the Deed of Dedication thereto, and that
the same be recorded within Sixty (60) days from the date hereof by the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of .Frederick County, Virginia; upon the presentation by Richard U. Goode and upon compliance
with all the directions of the ordinances of the County of Frederick.
PLAT - RICHARD U. GOODE - PLEASANT VALLEY SUBDIVISION NO. 1
The plat of Pleasant Valley Subdivision No. 1 was tentatively approved.

Upon motion, duly seconded, the following resolution was passed:

Royal Street intersects with Rt. 644 at a point 0.13 Mi. North of Rt. 652 and extends in a
southeasterly direction to a Dead End, a distance of 0.174 Mile.
A 50' unrestricted right of way is.guaranteed. This right of way is on record in the Clerk's
Office of the County of Frederick in Deed Book 245 Page 451.
These streets have been constructed by the subdivider in accordance
with Ordinance and Highway Department policy for subdivision streets. These streets have been
graded 24 feet wide, exclusive of side ditches, have been surfaced at least 5" deed with crushed
stone and surface treated 20 feet wide.
FOXES - TRAPPING
Mr. F. Nelson Swink of Harrisonburg, Virginia, appeared before the
Board on behalf of the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries and requested that a Trapping
Campaign be adopted and that the same be managed by the County Agent to instruct citizens of th
County how to trap foxes. No action was taken.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
Accounts totaling $7334.48 were approved and ordered to be paid from
the General County Levy by warrants numbers 17815 to 17915 inclusive; livestock claims, fowl
claims and Earl Cather's salary totaling $312.25 were ordered to be paid from the Dog Fund by
warrants numbers 1718 to 1724 inclusive.

RABIES Dr. A. L. Lindall and William Butler appeared before the Board and
requested the Board to adopt an ordinance for the vaccination of dogs in Frederick County.

Upon motion, duly seconded, the following resolution was passed:
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of High
says, has prepared and submitted plans to the Board for the construction or improvement of a
section of Route 660 of the State Secondary System, Project 1334 -10, in Frederick County, from
Int. Rt. 340 & 7 (E. of Winchester ) to Int. Rt. 664, approved September 11, 1957; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Board that said road be improved in
accordance with said plans.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That this Board hereby approved the
plans and requests the Department of.Highways to proceed with construction in accordance there-
with, and this Board hereby agrees to assist and cooperate in the acquisition of the right of
way shown on plans as being required, it being understood that costs for such right of way are
to be paid from Secondary funds allocated or to be allocated to Frederick County.
It is further understood and agreed that in the event one or more
property owners refuse to execute a deed covering land required from their properties for right
of way purposes that the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Highways, will institute and
conclude condemnation proceedings and that all costs are to be paid from Secondary funds allo-
cated or to be allocated to Frederick County.

date hereof, and the attaching of the deed of dedication to said plat.

Eastwardly to the point of beginning, passed its first and second reading and it is ordered that
it be published in the Winchester Evening Star on two successive weeks. It is the intention of i
the Board of Supervisors to propse the same for its third and final reading and adoption on the
11th day of November, 1957, and further that the public hearing thereof shall be on the said date,.
ORDINANCE - VACCINATION OF DOGS FOR RABIES
Upon motion of B. 0. Brumback and seconded by Grover Teets, the following Ordinance
passed its first and second readings: and the Clerk is 'ordered to have said ordinance published
for twosuccessive weeks in the Winchester Evening Star. It is the intention of the Board of
Brumback; C. E. Garber voted against passage and L. R. Omps did not vote.
Supervisors to propose the same for its third and final reading and adoption of the 11th day of
November, 1957, and further that the public hearing thereof shall bec on the above said date.

A recorded vote was requested. Votingfor passage were Grover Teets, C. M. Rosenberger, B. 0.
(1) That all dogs in Frederick County be vaccinated for rabies by a duly licensed
veterinarian on or before the first day of April, 1958 and that all other dogs be vaccinated for
rabies on or before becoming sisrmonths of age after April 1, 1958.
(2) Each Veterinarian to give a certificate to the owner of such dog, setting
forth the date of vaccination, description, 'of the dog, and the nember of the rabies vaccination
tag issued to each owner.
(3) Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall be punished
by a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more than Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) and upon
conviction thereof the court shall then order the owner of any such dog so convicted to have
said dog, or dogs, vaccinated immediately.
(4) The Game Warden, the Health Officer of the Department of Health of Frederick
County, Virginia, and the Sheriff of Frederick County are given authority to enforce this
ordinance.
(5) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to own, keep, hold
or harbor any dog, over the age of six months within Frederick County, Virginia, unless said dog
shall have been vaccinated with a modified live virus (Flury) strain rabies vaccine, approved
by the Virginia State Department of Health within a period of thirty six months.
(6) Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance or presenting
a certificate of vaccination for a dog other than that for which it was issued, shall, upon
conviction thereof, be fined not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor more then Fifteen Dollars
($15.00) for each such offense.
(7) This ordinance shall be in effect on and after the date of its final adoption.
ORDINANCE - BUILDING PERMITS
Upon motion of Byron Brumback and seconded by Grover Teets the following resolu-
tion was approved on its first reading to be studied and considered at the next meeting.
Before any building permit be granted by the Commissioner of the Revenue or the

Board of Supervisors, the land owner shall submit to the Commissioner of Revenue a plan for
water and sewer for each building constructed, using the same to be approved by the Department
of Health.
BILLS PAYABLE
Accounts totaling $6,379 were approved and ordered (sx9Mdgp," to be paid from
the ,,General (;ounty Fund by warrants numbers 17916 to 16966 inclusive; and livestock, fowl claims
and Earl Cather's salary totaling $320.70 were approved and ordered to be paid from the Dog,
Fund by warrants numbers 1725 to 1728 inclusive.
