GARBAGE DUMP - PUBLIC Upon motion duly seconded; It is ordered that no dead animals or dead fowls be deposited on the Frederick County Public Garbage Dump; and also, Mr. C. E. Garber is hereby authorized to have - a sign made containing this order and placed at the entrance of said dump. BILLS PAYABLE Accounts totaling $4356.35 were approved and ordered to be paid from the General County Fund by Warrants numbers 15007 to 15055 inclusive and Livestock and Fowl Claims and Earl Cather's salary, totaling $289.08 be paid from the Dog Fund by warrants numbers 1363 to 1368 inclusive. DOG FUND Upon motion duly seconded the Treasurer is ordered to transfer One Thousand Dollars from the Dog Fund to the General County: Fund. i 1 Upon motion of Grover Teets, duly seconded, the salary and expense account for the year beginning on the 1st, day of January, 1954, of the Treasurer $4800.00 Deputy, Assistant and extra helf $3600.00 and mileage and other expenses $577.50, total $8977.50. The salary and expense account of the Commissioner of the Revenue, Salary $4000.00, Deputy, Typist and extra hel-P $4480.00 and other expenses $535.50, total $9015.50. The salary and ex- pense account of the Sheriff, salary $4020.00; jailor, deputies, matron, clerk, and jail clerk $8280.00; other expenses $165.00, total $12,465.00. The salary and expense account of the Commonwealth's Attorney, salary $3000.00, secretary $600.00 total $3600.00, were approved as fixed by the Compensation Board; B. 0. Brumback, Grover Teets and C. M. Rosenberger, voting for approval and Paul Luttrell and C. E. Garber voting against approval. LAND ASSESSORS Upon motion of B. 0. Brumback and seconded by C. E. Garber, it is ordered that the compensation of the land assessors for Frederick County for the year, 1954, be and hereby is fixed at the rate of $10.00 per day with mileage at the rate of six cents per mile for the actual mileage traveled in viewing the different tracts'of land. SPECIAL MEETING Upon motion, duly seconded, it is ordered that a special meeting be i held on the 20th. day of January, 1954 at 10:00 A.M. to consider the budget for the year begin- ning on the 7 1st. day of July, 1954; and also a special meeting on the 27th. day of January, 1954, at 2:00 P.M. to meet with the School Board. SCHOOLS - EXCESS AMOUNT AS FIXED IN THE BUDGET i Upon motion.of Grover Teets and seconded by B. 0. Brumback, the School! Board is given permission to transfer the excess of the $1.00 school levy as fixed in the budget to general repairs, which is ascertained to be approximately $771.00. REQUEST FOR SECONDARY ROADS Upon motion duly seconded, the Clerk is ordered to have published in the Winchester Evening Star the following notice: "In accordance with the law, the Frederick County Board of Superviosrs will hold their regular meeting for requests for secondary road improvements and additions on Monday, February 8, 1954, at 10:30 A.M. PLAT - GLAIZE AVENUE Upon motion made and duly seconded, the follwing resolution was adopted: Whereas, Glaize Developments, Incorporated, at -the August, 1953 meeting of the Board of Supervisors, submitted a_plat of Harrison Avenue Addition to Glaize Developments, Incorpor- ated, Haldeman Land Lots, Paper Mill Road, Route 644 Sub - division and the same was approved by I the Board of Supervisors and the Health Director and Sanitarian of Frederi "ck County Health Department but it was not approved by the Virginia Department of Highways as required by an Ordinance of Frederick County. Whereas, Glaize Developments, Incorporated have now entered into a bond for the construction of Harrison Avenue and they now desire to re- submit said plat for approval. " And now, therefore, be it resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Frederick County re- approve said plat and bond of Glaize Developments, Incorporated for the construction of Harrison Avenue, as submitted by them this day. r Accounts totaling $3,607.81 were approved and ordered to be paid from the General County Fund by Warrants numbers 15056 to 15098 inclusive; and livestock, fowl claims and Earl Cather's salary totaling $247.61_were approved and ordered to be paid from the Dog Fund, , by Warrants numbers 1369 to 1375 inclusive. The day was spent in estimating the income and expenses for said budget. This was the joint meeting of the Frederick County Board of Supervisors and School Board. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the different items in the School Budget for the year of 1954 and 1955 A general discussion was had.
