Upon motion duly seconded Holmes Lewis was employed as Janitor.in place
and stead of Ward Shade -, Janitor, having resigned on the 10th day of '"arch and effective as of I
April 1 1952. Holmes Lewis was employed.
SCHOOL BOARD - TENTATIVE BUDGET
Er. R. E. Aylor, Superintendent of Schools, with the School Board of
Frederick County appeared before the Board and presented the Tentative School Budget for the
year beginning on the 1st day of July 1952 and ending on the 30th day of June, 1953.
Upon motion it is orderid that the Board do now adjourn.

An ordinance to adopt the 'sta'tutory provision of the Act of the General
Assembly of Virginia, known as the Virginia Land Subdivision Act, being incorporated in the
Code of Virginia as title 15 chapter 23 article 2, beginning at Section 15- 794 -31 together with
certain regulations to be made and adopted by the Board of Supervisors in connection therewith

and penalty for violation thereof, passes its first and second reading. The Clerk is ordered
to have notice of said Ordinance published one time on two successive weeks in the Winchester
Evening Star, that it is the intention of the said Board of Supervisors to prepare the same for
its third and final reading and passage on the 6th. day of May, 1952, at 1:30 P. M.

APPLE BLOSSOM FQTIVAL
Upon request of J. Pinckney Arthur, of the Winchester Apple Blossome Com-
mittee that they be given permission to use the Plaza for Amusements for Wednesday through- -
Thursday and Friday, April 30 and May 1 and 2 through Saturday morning., May 3 all to be removed

by early Saturday morning.
Upon motion, it was unanimously decided to grant the above requested permission, subject
however, to the following restrictions: that no bricks be damaged, all damage to meters to be
paid, no stakes be driven, no wires to be used and further not to be used for living quarters
and also to post bond if declared necessary by said Board.

Upon motion Harry L. McCann was appointed F.I.C.A. Administrator for Frederick
County, Virginia.

Upon motion duly seconded ^Williams was employed.as Janitor for the County
buildings and grounds.
SCHOOL BOARD - APPROPRIATIONS
The School Board, Robert E. Aylor, Superintendent of Schools and Mrs. Eliza-
beth L. Sheetz, Clerk of the Board, appeared beforetthe Board and made the following request:
1. Permission to use from the balance brought forward as of July, 1951
(a) $4,270.45 to complete the two -room addition at the Gore School
(b) $3,198 to complete the sanitary running water toilet project at
the.Round Hill School
(c) $3,500 to install a water softener system at the James Tood High
School.
LE VY
Upon motion of Grover Teets and seconded by Paul Luttrell, it is unanimously
ordered that the Tentative Levy for the fiscal year beginning on the 1st. day of July, 1952, and
ending on the 30th. day of June, 1953, be set at the following rates:
General County Levy on each $100.00 valuation fifty -five ($0.55) cents
School Levy on each $100.00 valuation one- hundred ($1.00) cents
Special Levy County High School on each $100.00 Valuation sisty ($0.60) cents
Total - two hundred and fifteen ($2.15) cents
SUBDIVISION - BOND - YARVIN WEAVER
The subdivision on the Paper Mill Road,,Shawnee District, Frederick County,
Virginia, known as Wea Villa and being part of a certain tract of land owned by Marvin D. Weaver
as recorded in Deed Book 222, at page 471, was approved by the Board for recordation provided an
improvement bond for a term of 30 days totaling $2000.00 divided in smaller amounts for each
street improvement. The Chairman is ordered to sign the approval of said flat.
B ILLS PAYABLE
Accounts totaling $3844.14 were approved and ordered to be paid from the
General County Fund by warrants numbers 13670 to 13716 inclusive and Livestock, fowl calims
and Parl Lather's Salary totaling $304.46 were approved and ordered to be paid from the Dog
Fund by warrants numbers 1244 to 1252 inclusive.
Upon motion it is ordered that the Board do'now adjourn.
