honor bestowed upon him he assumed his duties as Chairman.

Upon motion it was unanimously decided and ordered that the Regular I

A delegation of the Citizens living on ferryman's Land appeared
before the Board and requested that Merryman.?-s Lane be improved at it intersection with route
#50 on the West side.
COMPENSATI)N OF THE CLERK OF THIS BOARD
Upon motion it is ordered that the Clerk shall receive $115.00 per
year as Clerk of this Board and that said Salary be paid quarterly.
SALnRY OF THE CLERK OF TfR; COURT
Upon motion it is ordered that the Salary of the Clerk of the Court

shall be $700.00 per year and that said salary be paid quarterly.
JANITOR'S SALARY
It is ordered that the Salary of the Janitor for the County Office building
and the Court House be fixed at $ 20.00 per Calendar Yonth.
JANITOR'S SALARY - COLORED REST ROOM
Upon motion it is ordered that the Salary of the Janitor for the Colored rest
room be fixed at $2$.00 per calendar month.
JANITOR' SALARY - LA DIFS REST ROOM
Upon motion'Lit is ordered that the Salary of the Janitor of the Ladies Rest

Room be fixed at $40.00 per. Calendar month.
GAME WARDEN - SALARY
Upon motion it is ordered that the Salary of the Game Warden be fixed at $70.00
per calendar month.
COMPENSATION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Beginning January 1, 1952 by agreement of the members of this Board it is ordered
that each shall receive $19.29 plus mileage for their attendance at each regular meeting, beased
on twelve meetings per year, except the Chairman, who shall receive $3.50 additional plus mileage
for signing of the warrants.
On motion duly seconded this Board recommends that the Judge of the Circuit Court
Frederick County appoint Lee A. Ebert, County Surveyor for Frederick County, for the term
inning on January 1, 1952 and ending on the 31st day of Decenber, 1955.
A list of delinquent lands having been confirmed by the Court for the year of
1949, sold to the Commonwealth and individuals was submitted to the Board by the Clerk according
to Sec 2487 of the 1942 Virginia Code and was approved.
An Ordinance to provide for the enforcement of Licensing of all dogs and the
limination of any dog of unknown ownership found running at large without a collar and licensed
ag and to impose quarantine on all dogs during the presence of rabies in any section of Frederick
ounty which was advertised for its third and final and final reading at this meeting was not

County Fund by warrants numbers 13538 to 13587 inclusive and livestock, fowl claims and Earl
Cather's salary totaling 5163.20 were approved and ordered to be paid from the Dog Fund by
warrants numbers 1232 to 1235 inclusive.

State Police

Upon motion of Gro ver Teets and seconded by C. E. Garber the State Police
are authorized to use the two snall rooms in the Bailey Store Building at a rental value of
Fifty ($50.00) Dollars per calendar month for a period of four tears from the first day of
January, 1952.
WELFARE SUPERINTENDANT
Upon the motion of the Welfare Board it is mutually agreed by this Board that
the Superintendant of Public Welfare of Frederick County be employed by the Frederick County

Upon motion of Paul Luttrell and seconded by C. E. Garber the following
resolution was offered. Resolved, That the staff o the Sheriff be reduced to two deputies
instead of three. Z. L. Garber and Paul Luttrell voting for the resolution and b. U. Brumback
Grover Teets and C. M. Rosenberger against it. Therefore the resolution was not passed.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the matter of increasing the
bounty on foxes.
BOUNTY ON F0 5
Upon motion of C. E. Garber and seconded by Paul Luttrell, it is ordered
that the bounty on foxes be increased from one Dollar ($1.00) to Three Dollars ($3.00) per fox
killed in Frederick County, Virginia beginning on the 2nd day of February, 1952 and continuing
until further notice, and further that the ears and tail or the whole fox be exhibited to the
Game Warden or Walter Bursey of Winchester, Virginia who will issue an order for the payment
of said bounty.

Upon motion of B. 0. Brumback and seconded by C. E.Garber it is ordered that
the Welfare Board be, and hereby is authorized to pay from the surplus administration funds, the
sum of One Hundred and Fifty One Dollars to Webber's Plumbing and Heating Co. for repaird to the
office of said Welfare Board
