BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
PROCLAMATION
ELIZABETH C ENGLE/FRIENDS OF HANDLEY REGIONAL LIBRARY WEEK
WHEREAS, the Friends of Handley Regional Library have made a major contribution
to the Frederick County, Winchester and Clarke County community and to Handley Regional
Library through their sponsorship of programs for children and adults in the library, their
work with the First Step to Literacy Program, and through their fund-raising efforts; and
WHEREAS, the Friends are celebrating their twentieth anniversary during November
1997; and
WHEREAS, Elizabeth C. Engle was instrumental in the establishment of the Friends of
Handley Regional Library and has been a steadfast supporter of the Friends throughout its
existence.
BE IT RESOL VED, that as Chairman of the Frederick County Board of Supervisors, I
do hereby proclaim November 9 - November 15, 1997 as Elizabeth C. Engle/Friends of
Handley Regional Library Week in Frederick County.
ADOPTED this 7th day of October, 1997.
