RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT:
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN FREDERICK
COUNTY AND THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
FOR WARRIOR DRIVE
WHEREAS, the County of Frederick desires to work in partnership with the Virginia
Department of Transportation to improve and extend Warrior Drive from Fairfax Pike (Route
277) to Tasker Road (Route 642); and,
WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Understanding between the County of Frederick and the
Virginia Department of Transportation has been drafted which depicts the responsibilities of each
party; and,
WHEREAS, the County of Frederick is willing to enter into this agreement with the Virginia
Department of Transportation to expedite the design and construction of Warrior Drive, in which
the County of Frederick will apply for funding through the Revenue Sharing Program annually
until the project cost is achieved; and,
WHEREAS, the County of Frederick will ensure that any portion of the Warrior Drive project
which is not funded through the Revenue Sharing Program will be funded through the County of
Frederick Secondary Road Allocation Funds per Section 33.1-70.01 of the Code of Virginia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the Frederick County Board of
Supervisors supports the Memorandum of Understanding between the County of Frederick and
the Virginia Department of Transportation for Warrior Drive.
