Dear Mr. Riley,
It is my hopes to have" Children at play' signs erected on our street. I am writing on the behalf
of the residents in this neighborhood. We have a very high volume of traffic that does not live or have
business here.
Our neighborhood has become a through way for trucks and other traffic coming through to get to the 7
eleven at the entrance to our neighborhood. Our street (Hites St. ) IS quite dangerous due to the fact that
there is no way for the speeders coming through to see our children before it is too late. If you drive
through "Shenandoah Hills' you will come to many dangerous turns that are taken at 25 miles an hour.
Since most of the traffic is only passing through they may be unaware that many children walk and bike in
this neighborhood,
I have tried many thing. I have contacted the VDOT to get the speed limit lowered. To no avail.
Allot of the residents have expressed an interest in closing our neighborhood off at Greenwood Rd.
Which would make our neighborhood a safer place for all.
Sa please at your next meeting approve signs for Shenandoah Hills subdivision and save our kids.
Hites 5t. really needs them.
Sincerely,
The residents of Shenandoah Hills
