AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
THE FREDERICK COUNTY CODE
CHAPTER 7, ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, An ordinance to amend the Frederick County Code, Chapter 7, Elections, Article I,
Magisterial Districts, Section 7-1 (Districts Created), Section 7-2 (Districts Enumerated), and Section
7-4 (Boundaries); and Article II, Election Precincts, Section 7-6 (Precincts Created), Section 7-7
(Precincts and Respective Polling Places Enumerated), Section 7-8 (Boundaries), and Section 7-9
(Changes in Precinct or Polling Places); and,
WHEREAS, The Frederick County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on this ordinance
amendment on May 9,2001 and on May 23,2001; and,
WHEREAS, the Frederick County Board of Supervisors finds the adoption of this ordinance to be
in the best interest ofthe public health, safety, welfare, and convenience;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Frederick County Board of Supervisors that
Chapter 7, Elections, Article I, Magisterial Districts, Section 7-1 (Districts Created), Section 7-2
(Districts Enumerated), and Section 7-4 (Boundaries); and Article II, Election Precincts, Section 7-6
(Precincts Created), Section 7-7 (Precincts and Respective Polling Places Enumerated), Section 7-8
(Boundaries), and Section 7 -9 (Changes in Precinct or Polling Places) is amended as described on the
attachment.

Pursuant to authority contained in Code of Virginia (1950) as amended, ~ 15,2-1211, the
Magisterial Districts of Frederick County, Virginia, are hereby created and established as set forth
in this Article,

The Central Absentee Voting Precinct for all elections (except town elections for Middletown and
Stephens City) is to be held at 107 North Kent Street (County Administration Building), Winchester,
Virginia, in a first-floor conference room.

The Secretary of the Electoral Board shall notify by mail no later than fifteen (15) days prior to the
