RESOLUTION
FISCAL YEAR 2001-2002 BUDGET AMENDMENT
WHEREAS, the Frederick County Board of Supervisors, meeting in rcgular session and
public hearing held on October 24, 2001, took the following action:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors that the FY 200 [-
2002 Landfill Budget be Amended to Reflect:
Landfill Fund Supplemental Appropriation in the Amount of $1,118,014 for Construction
of Two Solid Waste Disposal Cells at the Landfill.
Landfill Fund Supplemental Appropriation in the Amount of $1,120,000 for LandfiJJ
Acquisitions that arc Landtlll Related.
The above amounts represent previously FYO 1 budgeted funds.

We are requesting that an amount cf $l73,293 be carried [om'ard and allocated to line item 12-4204-
3002-00 for professional services. These monies will be utilized to pay for landfill design projects
perfonned by SCS Engineers. The major permit amendment associated with cap extension of the
municipal waste landfill was budgeted in the 2000/2001. This amendment will be completed and filed
with the Department of Environmental Quality during FY 2001/2002.
2. CONSTRUCTION VEmCLES AND EOUlPl\fENT -8006-00
Weare requesting that the amount of $60,000 be carried forward and allocated to line item 12-4204-
8006-00 for the purchase of a used Drum Roller. Local Equipment dealers are searching for a used
roller that will meet our needs. It is anticipated that several pieces of equipment in this category will
become available during FY 2001/2002.
3. IMPROVE]\i[ENTS OTHER THAN -7900-00

I We are requesting that the amount of $1, 118,014 be carried forward and allocated to line item 12-
4204-7900-00. These funds will be used for construction of two solid waste disposal cells. The first is
a nine acre cell in the MSW landfill (permit 529), which has been awarded to Perry Engineering. The
second cell will nine acres in the CDD landfill (pennit 59]). Construction on this area will begin in the
first quarter of FY 2001/2002.
4. LAND -7700-00
We are requesting that the amount of $1,120,000 be carried forward [or land acquisitions that have
previously been approved by the public works committee and the board of supervisors. The major
purchase is that of the Peter Paul Riley farm adjacent to the landfill.
