February 21, 1984 Special MeetingA Special Meeting of the Frederick County Board of Supervisors was held
on February 21, 1984, at 5:45 P.M., in the Board of Supervisors' Meeting
Room, 9 Court Square, Winchester, Virginia.
PRESENT: Kenneth Y. Stiles, Chairman; Will L. Owings, Vice - Chairman;
Robert M. Rhodes and C. William Orndoff, Jr. Mrs. Rhoda Maddox and Mr.
David Smith were absent.
CALL TO ORDER
The Chairman called the meeting to order and asked that everyone
observe a moment of silence.
Mr. Stiles stated that at this time the Board would be going into
Executive Session for the purpose of an interview which would come under
Personnel.
BOARD RETIRED INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION
Upon motion made by Robert M. Rhodes, seconded by C. William Orndoff,
Jr. and passed unanimously, the Board retired into Executive Session in
accordance with Virginia Code (1950), Section 2.1 -344, Subsection A (1) to
discuss personnel matters.
BOARD WITHDREW FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION
Upon motion made by Robert M. Rhodes, seconded by C. William Orndoff,
Jr. and passed unanimously, the Board withdrew from Executive Session.
BOARD RECONVENED INTO REGULAR SESSION
Upon motion made by C. William Orndoff, Jr., seconded by Robert M.
Rhodes and passed unanimously, the Board reconvened into Regular Session.
Mr. Stiles stated that Ms. Kathleen Stadler had been hired as the new
Extension Agent to fill the vacancy recently created by the resignation of
Judy Burtner. He further stated that Ms. Stadler had been recommended by
VPI & SU, as well as by the Extension Advisory Committee, and that she would
be starting to work on March 16, 1984.
Ms. Stadler stated that she was pleased to be coming to work in
Frederick County and looked forward to living and working in Virginia.
Upon motion made by Will L. Owings, seconded by Robert M. Rhodes and
passed unanimously, Ms. Kathleen Stadler was hired as the Home Extension
Agent for Frederick County and that she will either be residing in Frederick
County or the City of Winchester.
UPON MOTION DULY MADE, SECONDED AND PASSED UNANIMOUSLY,
IT WAS ORDERED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ADJOURN.
