A special Meeting of the Frederick county Board of Supervi-
sors was held on Wednesday, March 4, 1992, 9:15 a.m., in the
Conference Room, Frederick County Courthouse, Loudoun street
Mall, Winchester, Virginia.
PRESENT: Chairman Richard G. Dick; Vice-Chairman W.
Harrington Smith, Jr.; James L. Longerbeam; Robert M. Sager;
Beverly J. Sherwood; and Charles W. Orndoff, Sr.
The board convened at this time to discuss budget cuts made
by the Finance Committee and staff for fiscal years 1991-1992
and for 1992-1993. As a result, the following actions were
taken:
COMMONWEALTH ATTORNEY I S EXPENDITURE FUND
Upon motion made by James L. Longerbeam, seconded by Robert
M. Sager, for the Commonwealth Attorney to provide in writing to
the board all of those areas where he can render services as
county attorney and identify any areas where a potential con-
flict may exist. He should also assure the board he has ade-
quate time and staff to provide county attorney services to the
board.
The above motion was passed unanimously by the following
recorded vote:
Richard G. Dick - Aye
W. Harrington Smith, Jr. - Aye
James L. Longerbeam - Aye
Robert M. Sager - Aye
Beverly J. Sherwood - Aye
Charles W. Orndoff, Sr. - Aye
BOARD TO RESTORE DONATION CONTRIBUTION CUTS - FAILED
Upon motion made by James L. Longerbeam, seconded by
Beverly J. Sherwood, to restore cuts up to $45,000 to the
donation line items should the economy improve.
The above motion failed by the following recorded vote:
James L. Longerbeam - Aye
Beverly J. Sherwood - Aye
Robert M. Sager - Aye
Richard G. Dick - Nay
W. Harrington Smith, Jr. - Nay
Charles W. Orndoff, Sr. - Nay
Upon motion made by W. Harrington smith, Jr., seconded by
Charles w. Orndoff, Sr., to adjourn the meeting.
